Installing the Triage Messaging program
Installing the Triage Messaging program is easy. There are two steps:
- Download the Triage Messaging installer from http://triagetrading.com/help/download
- Run the Triage Messaging installer program, and follow the setup directions carefully.
During the installation process, you will be asked to read and accept the Triage Corporation Terms of Service License Agreement.
Click “I Accept” and press the Next button. Then select the folder where you want to install Triage Messaging. We recommend the C:\Program Files\Triage folder.
When asked which trading platforms support for Triage Messaging, please select the trading platform components installed. Currently, Triage Messaging supports NinjaTrader, TradeStation, MultiCharts and Sierra Chart.
You will also have the option to start Triage Messaging with Windows and setup your instant messaging accounts after installation. We recommend you do both.
The installation program should take less than one minute to complete. Click “show details” to display what files and folders were created on your computer.
If you encounter an import information wizard during or after installation, please close this dialog box, unless you are familiar with Miranda IM software. We usually recommend you skip this step.
Finding the Triage Messaging Folder and Tray Icon
After you have installed the Triage Messaging program, you should see a Triage software icon in your Windows taskbar icon tray. It should look similar to the red circled icon shown below.
You should also see a Triage Messaging folder on your desktop that contains the Triage Messaging program, an uninstaller program and this user guide.
You should also see a Triage folder in your Windows Start Menu.
Installing as administrator recommended
Depending on your Microsoft Windows version, you may be blocked from running installation programs from certain folders and installing Triage Messaging in your Program Files or root folders. We recommend you install Triage Messaging as an Administrator user if you run into file and folder permission issues.
Also, for Windows Vista users, you may run into User Account Control dialogs requiring your permission to continue. Press the “continue” button if you see the pop-up message shown below.
Entering your username and password
When Triage Messaging first runs it will ask you for a username and password. Without an authorized username and password authentication, your messages will not be sent.
If you leave your username and password blank during installation, you can always re-enter this information by selecting options > account from the Triage Messaging tray icon.
